Gerry,

How do you restore the operating system files? The Windows System Restore never worked for me. Check the link too.

I use GNU/Linux, so I am free of these worries! The OS is designed in a much better manner than Windows. And, anyway, the softwares on my system are from Debian’s official repository, the infection of which will be a high-profile event, so I would hear of it! (I backup too!)

aibek,

I never use restore function, I disable it in the Windows registry. I just reinstall the OS if there is a problem. I also use Linux, BSD Unix and Solaris. My preference is BSD Unix and Debian in that order. However, I get Windows Xp and Windows 7 to run almost as fast as Linux after shutting off most of the unnecessary processes they have running. My customers us Windows so I have to deal with it and they way I do is to hack its registry and turn off most of the stuff that bloats the OS.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I haven’t really studied Windows; I suppose it is possible to turn it into something good enough.
